Gallery Exhibit Soundtrack

The Sonification station at the Gallery exhibit.
Our exhibition at CCNY ran with a continuous ambient soundtrack. Compiled and mixed by Prof. Perl, at its' foundation are three long pieces of composed sound-design created by SAC student/alums Keita Jo (Kyoungtae Suh), Andrey Radovski, and Felipe Quiroz. These three pieces of sound design were interwoven with field recordings from Prof. Tedesco's Greenland trip (crampons being used, melting and running water, helicopters, etc.), and also with sounds from Prof. Perl's sonifications themselves (albedo choir, cumulative melt resonant filter, annual melt geiger counter, annual temperature filtered sounds, and daily albedo steel drums). The next time you go perusing the climate change blogs, you can have this running in the background for a little atmosphere!
